Human Health Risk Assessment Scientist

INTERA is seeking a mid-level Human Health Risk Assessment Scientist to join our team in Richland, Washington.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
 
This position requires performing routine human health risk assessment assignments in a manner consistent with US EPA and/or state regulatory requirements and associated guidance.  Assignments will include compilation of dose-response data, exposure assessment, exposure point concentration evaluation, risk assessment calculations, data analysis, and report preparation.  Other tasks will include regulatory guidance and literature research, critical evaluation, and synthesis of regulatory guidance, compliance criteria for chemicals in potential exposure media (groundwater, surface water, soil, air, food), and scientific literature. 
 
The applicant chosen for this position must be able to work under limited supervision and be able to participate in more complex assignments under closer supervision.  This individual must also be able to evaluate, select, and apply standard risk assessment techniques, procedures and criteria to perform technical assignments and QA/QC activities.

     
QUALIFICATIONS:

Three to ten years of applicable experience preferred, with primary emphasis in human health risk assessment.  B.S. or M.S. in Toxicology, Risk Assessment, Biology, Public Health or related technical field is required. Demonstrated experience with proUCL, RESRAD, statistics, CERCLA, or RCRA is a plus.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
