MS, Oceanography, Texas A&M University, 1977
BS, Chemistry, Duke University, 1974

Ms. Salter has over 20 years experience in research and development related to radioactive, chemical, and mixed-waste management and disposal, and radionuclide and trace-metal behavior in environmental systems; in systems performance and safety/risk assessment; in environmental assessments; in multicomponent geostatistical analyses; and in the analytical chemistry/ radiochemistry of soils, waters and sediments. She has completed over 35 publications and reports related to the above areas. As the manager of analytical laboratory operations in support of RCRA and CERCLA environmental sample analysis at the DOE’s Hanford Site, she managed over $35M projects involving planning and coordination of project tasks and associated budgets and schedules. She is also the key technical contributor to the projects of establishing disposal options for the Hanford Single Shell Tank mixed-wastes, that involved US NRC and EPA regulatory analysis, disposal criteria development, waste and waste-form characterization, and waste disposal systems performance/risk analysis. She participated in Rocky Flat project in characterizing soil geochemistry.
