John Ewing’s experience includes water resources, groundwater hydrology, numerical flow and transport modeling, and aquifer characterization and remediation. Mr. Ewing has 13 years experience in the fields of water resources and groundwater hydrology. Mr. Ewing’s emphasis has been in the development and calibration of numerical models to fluid flow and transport problems. He has extensive experience in single and multiphase fluid flow and scientific computing. Mr. Ewing has applied MODFLOW, TOUGH2, UTCHEM, FEHM, SWIFT II, MUFTE-UG, UTSTREAM, SWAT and HSPF to the simulation of flow and transport processes. He has extensive experience using codes such as PEST and UCODE to aid and automate the calibration of hydrologic models. Mr. Ewing is also experienced using geographical information systems (GIS) software such as ArcGIS. He is skilled programming in FORTRAN, PERL, VBA, C and Java and has experience in code development. Mr. Ewing has considerable experience using computing clusters to distribute the computational load involved in large-scale model calibration and sensitivity analyses and has developed numerous programs for the parallelization of modeling tasks.
