INTERA’s founder, Dr. Ron Lantz, has always set a strong standard for stewardship within the company and in the community. To recognize the duty that all INTERA employees have to stewardship, the company has created the Ron Lantz Stewardship Award. The mission statement of the award is: To empower INTERA employees to act as stewards of the environment for the betterment of humankind. Awarded on an annual basis through a competitive proposal process, the award includes a $10,000 stipend for expenses and a 1-month paid sabbatical to execute a project that exemplifies stewardship.

INTERA Scientists Serve as Judges in Regional Science Festival
INTERA’s Beronica Lee-Brand and Shannon George recently volunteered as judges in the Junior/Senior Division of the 2018 Austin Energy Regional Science Festival—a competition for 3rd through 12th grade students from 23 school districts and 12 counties in Texas. With over 3,500 students and families in attendance, it is among the largest of the 13 regional science fairs held in Texas. The festival offers a public viewing of the science projects, educational booths, and scientific demonstrations. Beronica and Shannon stated that, “it’s a great way to support the community, and we’re just glad we could be part of it.” Both said they were impressed with the quality and innovativeness of the science projects, making their judging responsibilities even more of a challenge.

INTERA’s President & CEO, Dr. Marsh Lavenue, and Mr. Bryan Leach, the principal author of the course materials and course facilitator, held the first INTERA 101 training for a group of 24 employees. The 1-day course is comprised of five modules that provide an overview of INTERA’s history, corporate culture, the consulting business model, customer service, and financial best practices. While primarily intended as an on-boarding training course, INTERA will offer the course to all employees over the next twelve months. Dr. Lavenue stated that INTERA 101 will “ensure consistency in the knowledge of our history, our culture, and how we operate the business and why.”
