Dr. Erik Anderson Authors Article in the Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
INTERA’s Dr. Erik Anderson, PE, M.ASCE, Principal Engineer, has authored an article entitled, “Yield Equations for Bed-Mounted Infiltration Galleries”, in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering. Dr. Anderson’s article was chosen as the Editor’s Choice for Issue 10 of the Journal.
The article explores the limitations of existing technical guidance for designing bed-mounted infiltration galleries used in water supply and irrigation projects. It critiques Driscoll’s gallery yield equation and presents new equations that offer a more accurate representation of gallery flow conditions, addressing issues related to conservative results and incorporating filter layer and skin loss effects for improved design and analysis. November 5, 2023 – Dr. Neil Deeds to Present and Dan Haddock to Moderate at the 2023 Water Quality Technology Conference
INTERA’s Dr. Neil Deeds, PE, PG, Principal Water Resources Engineer, and Dan Haddock, PE, Director of Water Utility Services, will be presenting and moderating, respectively, at the 2023 Water Quality Technology Conference. This American Water Works Association (AWWA) event will be held November 5 – 9, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Deeds’ presentation will take place on Wednesday, November 8 at 8:30 AM during the “Managing Aquifer Recharge and Water Quality – Perspectives from Coast-to-Coast” session, which will be moderated by Dan Haddock. Neil’s presentation is entitled, “Strategies and Tools for Effective Investigation, Testing, Monitoring, and Regulation of Managed Aquifer Recharge”, and will focus on the application of field investigations, groundwater modeling, tracer testing, and other tools for analysis, design, permitting, and decision support for MAR projects. Dan will also moderate the session on Tuesday November 7 at 10:30 AM entitled, “Source Water Quality Changes.” Mr. Haddock is on the program planning committee for the conference in his role as a Trustee of the AWWA Water Resources Sustainability Division.
