INTERA has been very happy and proud to support the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida (GSWCF) and their development of Code Camp through the 2020 Ron Lantz Stewardship Award recipient, Renee Murch. The purpose of Code Camp is to create an inclusive environment for young women to gain coding experience at all levels of girl scouting and to help close the gender gap in STEM careers.

Over the past year, Code Camp has been present at various Girl Scout programming events throughout West Central Florida, including Polk County STEM Journey in a Day, 2023 Girl Scout Fest, and numerous troop meetings. The program has received appreciation from local leaders who have expressed their inability to provide coding activities for their girls without the help of Code Camp.

To further expand its outreach, Code Camp had an exhibit at this year's GSWCF STEMapalooza in mid-April. The exhibit included new activities, which provided the girls who attended last year with new ways to remain engaged. This event continues to provide an excellent opportunity for young women to learn more about STEM careers and see first-hand how coding can be applied to various industries.
