INTERA is pleased to announce the addition of Robert (Bob) Andrews, PhD to our Las Vegas, Nevada office. Dr. Andrews will serve as a Principal Scientist in INTERA's Federal-International Division supporting ongoing projects in the areas of performance assessment and hydrogeologic characterization. Prior to rejoining INTERA, Dr. Andrews spent eight years with Bechtel-SAIC Company, LLC where he was the Project Manager for the performance assessment of the U.S. Department of Energy's proposed high-level radioactive waste repository at Yucca Mountain. His recent efforts at Yucca Mountain include serving as the Science Interface Manager and an author of the site Safety Analysis Report. From 1981 to 2001, Dr. Andrews served as a Senior Hydrogeologist and Group Manager at INTERA where he supported radioactive waste isolation programs both in the U.S. and abroad. This experience includes managing natural systems performance assessments for the Office of Nuclear Waste Isolation, managing the total system performance assessment at Yucca Mountain for the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management, and managing the in-situ testing group for NAGRA, the agency responsible for radioactive waste disposal in Switzerland. INTERA is pleased to have Bob rejoin us and his exceptional technical and management skills will prove invaluable in supporting our ongoing and future waste isolation and environmental restoration projects.
