Oil and Gas

Whether it is finding and quantifying a water source to support completion and production operations, optimizing production from reservoirs, reducing the environmental liabilities associated with operations, or determining effective ways to manage waste streams, INTERA’s geosciences and engineering expertise is well-suited to help solve many of the challenges facing the oil and gas industry. Established in 1974 by merging the environmental division of a petroleum engineering company with an environmental sciences firm, our roots in the oil and gas industry run deep. The qualities that made us successful in serving petroleum clients—advanced reservoir simulation capabilities and multi-disciplinary expertise in the geosciences—have proven to be a solid foundation. Some of our earliest work involved adopting petroleum reservoir simulation tools and technologies to evaluate groundwater flow and contaminant transport in the subsurface. Since these early beginnings, INTERA’s capabilities have grown to encompass a wide variety of water resource, environmental, waste management, and coastal engineering services. We continue to bring the technical expertise, experience, and commitment to developing and implementing cost-effective solutions for the oil and gas industry
