The Austin City Council approved staff recommendations to award a 3-year contract to INTERA for providing Austin Energy (AE), the city-owned electric utility, with environmental consultation, engineering and project management services to assist the Environmental Care & Protection Section in addressing existing and future environmental concerns within its area of responsibility. INTERA and a team of subconsultants will provide environmental services related to AE's operations including:
  • studies, sampling, testing, analyses, recommendations, designs, regulatory review and/or construction management for projects that may involve environmental assessments
  • petroleum storage tank issues
  • storm water pollution prevention plans
  • 316B assessments
  • toxicity reduction evaluations
  • spill response plans
  • spill prevention and countermeasures plans
  • site remediation
  • air quality permitting and monitoring
  • soil monitoring
  • surface water monitoring
  • groundwater monitoring
  • hazardous and non-hazardous waste analysis
  • design/redesign of pollution controls and monitoring systems
  • environmental data collection and reporting
  • research studies and strategies related to greenhouse gas mitigation including off-sets, carbon market advisory services, environmental training, feasibility studies, modeling studies, industrial hygiene issues and environmental permitting.
