The U.S. Department of Energy recently awarded a 10-year, $10 billion contract to Central Plateau Cleanup Company LLC to continue work on the environmental cleanup of the Hanford Site near Richland, Washington. As a key member of the Central Plateau Cleanup Company team, which includes Amentum, Fluor Federal Services, Atkins Nuclear Secured LLC, and DBD Inc., INTERA’s efforts will focus on meeting the contaminated soil and groundwater cleanup mission under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Recovery Act (CERCLA). On hearing of the award announcement, INTERA’s President & CEO, Dr. Marsh Lavenue, stated, “I’m extremely proud of our team of geoscientists, engineers, risk assessors, and data analysis professionals that has supported the cleanup activities at Hanford over the past 12 years. Their efforts not only positioned INTERA to help win this follow-on contract, but more importantly, contributed to meeting key milestones in the environmental restoration of the Hanford Site. I’m excited about the opportunity to continue our successful performance under the new Central Plateau Cleanup Company’s leadership team.”
