We are excited to share that St. Johns County has received the Northeast Florida Regional Council’s (NEFRC) Resiliency Award for the Alpine Groves Park Shoreline Restoration Project—an effort in which INTERA played a key role.

Led by Mike Trudnak, Senior Coastal Engineer, INTERA provided expert design and engineering services to develop a nature-based solution that stabilizes the shoreline, protects wetlands, and enhances long-term resiliency. The project included a rock revetment and native plantings to mitigate erosion and safeguard this vital community space against future environmental challenges.

In recognizing the project, NEFRC highlighted its innovative approach to integrating resilient strategies to preserve natural assets. The successful completion of this effort, made possible through collaboration with St. Johns County, Public Works, and S.E. Cline Construction, serves as a model for future shoreline protection initiatives.

We’re proud to see INTERA’s expertise contribute to projects that make a lasting impact on communities and the environment. Congratulations to all involved! To learn more, visit: https://www.sjcfl.us/sjc-receives-nefrc-resiliency-award/
