INTERA is pleased to announce the addition of John Sigda, PhD, as a Senior Hydrogeologist with our Western Division based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Sigda has a PhD in earth and environmental science and a MS degree in Hydrology both from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology as well as a BS degree in engineering from Harvard. He specializes in quantitative hydrology in the saturated and vadose zones, flow and transport modeling, groundwater remediation, watershed management, and development/application of appropriate technology for water supply and sanitation. Dr. Sigda's experience with the mining industry includes flow and transport modeling to support the environmental impact analyses of proposed mine expansions, conducting large-scale hydraulic tests to evaluate dewatering requirements and water resource impacts, and designing covers for reclaimed tailings.
