Applying a focused, solution-oriented approach to every assessment and investigation project
From relatively straightforward Phase I ESAs to support property transactions to more comprehensive subsurface investigations to determine the nature, extent, and magnitude of affected media at Superfund sites, INTERA focuses on our client’s end goal for the site. By focusing our project approach, whether it is regulatory compliance, closure, or redevelopment, the scope of our investigative program is developed to provide the information needed for risk-based decision-making. Whether it is investigating a specific issue, such as methane gas generation at a landfill, or addressing soil and groundwater contamination from past industrial waste management practices, INTERA’s assessment and investigation activities are aimed at reducing our clients’ environmental liabilities.
The information obtained from our assessment activities is followed by expert advice. We draw upon expertise gained from investigating and characterizing hundreds of sites that include Brownfields, petroleum storage tank (PST) sites, federal and state Superfund sites, landfills, military installations, petroleum refineries and tank farms, chemical plants, and other industrial facilities. When contaminants are detected, we determine the nature and extent of the problem and work with our clients to design the most effective course of action. Examples of our relevant services are listed below.
- phase I/II environmental site assessments
- soil, groundwater, and surface water investigations
- geologic and hydrogeologic characterization
- vapor intrusion assessments
- landfill gas investigations
- waste characterization
