Providing hydrogeologic and engineering expertise for groundwater recharge, ASR, and MAR projects
When feasible, groundwater recharge (e.g., aquifer storage and recovery [ASR], managed aquifer recharge [MAR]) can play an important role in diversifying a water supply portfolio to address unexpected demands. Groundwater recharge stores excess water when it is available for subsequent withdrawal and use when needed, particularly during dry periods when other sources may not be available. Like a savings account, groundwater storage provides an emergency fund for unexpected times during which additional water supply is needed to meet unexpected demands. With climate variability expected to increase in the future, it is even more important to include groundwater storage in your water-supply portfolio to buffer against the increasing variability that is occurring now and expected to increase in the future.
A recognized leader in the hydrogeologic characterization of aquifer systems, INTERA brings expertise and experience in all phases of groundwater recharge projects, from conceptual analysis and feasibility studies to wellfield installation, pilot testing, and full-scale operation.
