Kelsey Smuczynski’s professional experience has focused on utilizing geographic information systems in support of hydrogeologic and hydrologic projects. In addition to her GIS experience, she has a background in surface and sub-surface water dynamics, training in well construction and groundwater sampling, and experience in measuring and mapping potentiometric surfaces. She has collected surface water and sediment samples, measured stream flow and discharge, and collected field data for use in creating spatially distributed hydrologic models and in constructing flow networks. Kelsey also has experience in the principles and theories of multispectral remote sensing using ENVI software for monitoring vegetation and detecting changes. Her experience with both field work and GIS and ENVI analyses help support the most effective planning for field data collection events.
