In his roles as Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Eric Markland is in charge of INTERA’s business operations including finance and accounting, human resources, information systems, facilities, risk management and contracting. His experience has focused on serving in executive leadership roles as Chief Operating Officer or Chief Financial Officer for environmental, engineering, or real estate firms. While at INTERA (and INTERA’s predecessor firms), he has participated in the negotiation, due diligence, and execution of numerous acquisition and divestiture transactions; contributed to significant corporate geographic growth, with responsibility over all financial matters associated with opening offices and acquiring corporate entities in the United States, Canada, and Europe; led the business operations for Western Region power plants; served on the Board of Trustees for the Hanford multi-employer defined benefit and defined contribution trusts, with fiduciary authority over $600 million in invested funds; and served as a board member of Columbia Basin Ventures, LLC, a venture capital company established to strengthen economic development in southeastern Washington. In previous positions, Eric has been responsible for acquisitions, risk management, strategic planning, facilities management, recruiting, and information technology. Notable activities have included financial system implementations, procedure development and assessment, and financial analysis/financial modeling design and implementation.
