Jack Wittman’s professional experience encompasses serving as a research hydrologist, technical and policy advisor to governors and tribes, groundwater modeling specialist, and consulting scientist, and applying hydrologic data and models to scientific and public policy problems. Jack has built a hydrological consulting firm and managed interdisciplinary and often remote teams of technical specialists. In addition to managing overall business development and expanding offerings, he is one of the primary people responsible for identifying and protecting intellectual property, and is one of three inventors of a patented collector well model (U.S. Patent number 7,769,574). Jack has been a consultant to federal, state, tribal, and local governments, as well as the largest water utilities in the world. In 2009, he was one of three experts to work for USAID in Azerbaijan to review their environmental programs and policies. He has been asked to consult with utility regulators, governor's offices, investor owned utilities, and professional organizations on water supply planning and development. Jack has been appointed by the Indiana governor to the State Water Shortage Task Force, and he is currently a member of the NGWA's certification committee. He was a member of the ASTM Committee D18 on Soil and Rock, the AWWA Research Foundation technical review committee, and is a member of the American Water Works Association's Water Utility Council. He has been on the board of directors for a local land trust and a member of the local drainage board.
