Joe Galemore’s professional experience has encompassed assessment, investigation, and remediation of sites contaminated with various types of chemicals and hydrogeologic characterization of mining sites. Joe has performed phase I/II environmental site assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, risk assessments, remedial planning, and remediation system operation, maintenance, and monitoring at sites contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, nitrate, and metals. He has worked on and managed Superfund projects and Voluntary Remediation Program and petroleum storage tank projects, all requiring strict compliance with a variety of state and federal regulations. He has provided senior technical support for projects involving the installation of groundwater monitoring wells that involved reverse circulation drilling to depths of over 600 feet, geophysical logging of boreholes, monitoring well design, and correlation of geologic units. This wide variety of experience coupled with his academic training in geology provides Joe with a thorough understanding of contaminant fate and transport, the advantages and disadvantages of various investigation and remediation technologies, regulatory agency requirements, and the myriad of issues associated with scheduling, contracting, and budgeting projects. He uses this combination of practical experience and a theoretical understanding with a common sense approach to successfully government and private clients regarding ways to meet project objectives, minimize risk, and keep projects on schedule and budget. He has managed projects with budgets ranging from thousands of dollars to $4.5 million.
