Peter Castiglia is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of INTERA Incorporated, a leading science and engineering consulting firm that advises governments and private businesses in the areas of environmental and air sciences, coastal engineering, water resources, and radioactive waste disposal. As CEO, he is responsible for ensuring that INTERA fulfils its mission of delivering results that empower our clients to confidently make impactful decisions; while also attracting, developing, and exciting the most outstanding people in our field.

Peter brings 25 years of experience to his role, having joined INTERA as a Hydrogeologist in 2007. Since then, he has served in a variety of technical and leadership roles. Before becoming CEO, he led INTERA’s Mining and Environmental business. His technical practice focused on developing non-potable water-supply strategies that safeguard limited freshwater resources and the environmental reclamation of former mining and milling sites.

Peter is a licensed Professional Geologist who earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Union College and a Master of Science in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the University of New Mexico. In addition to his work at INTERA, he currently serves as President of the Caswell Silver Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that supports graduate education and research in geology at the University of New Mexico.
