INTERA is thrilled to announce that Annelia Tinklenberg, PG, QP, Principal Hydrogeologist and Mining Operations Lead, was recently appointed as Chair of the Environmental Division of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME). Having served in various capacities within the Division in recent years, including as Program Committee Chair, Secretary/Publications, and Vice Chair, Annelia brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role.

In her capacity as Chair, Annelia assumes the responsibility of overseeing all meetings conducted by the Environmental Division, including monthly meetings, a mid-year in-person gathering, and sessions at the annual conference. Integral to her role is ensuring that the Division adheres to its mission and collaborates effectively with SME to develop and execute planning and programs aligned with the Division's objectives. The Environmental Division of SME serves as a vital platform for professionals in the minerals industry, facilitating networking opportunities and fostering leadership development among individuals with shared career aspirations. Committed to promoting safe and environmentally responsible mining practices, the Division serves as a conduit for the exchange of technical knowledge, organizing meetings, publishing technical papers, and advancing educational initiatives pertinent to the mining industry's environmental aspects.
