Real challenges and real solutions for unlimited growth and learning
For over 40 years, we have attracted and retained scientists and engineers who enjoy the challenges of working on complex projects. We believe that at the center of every INTERA career is the opportunity for personal and professional growth through work that positively influences the world.
INTERA is an employee-owned company, focused on sustainability and dedicated to the wellbeing of our communities, our staff, and our families.
We are driven by our belief in creativity and collaboration, where innovation is at the crossroads of open dialogue and knowledge. Valuing our scientists and engineers as team members and individuals empowers them to solve complex environmental, water resources, coastal engineering, and radioactive waste disposal challenges.
INTERA actively participates in the realization of our staff’s professional goals because we believe our people are our greatest asset. We prioritize mentorship, coaching, and the transition of knowledge and ownership from one generation to the next. In return, we are recognized for the loyalty, talent, and initiative of our people as well as the longevity of their careers with the company.
Life at INTERA
Building and sustaining a strong company culture is at the heart of INTERA’s practice of good stewardship. Fostering an environment where people love the work that they do and the place that they work enables us to better protect, preserve, and enhance our company and our company’s assets. By prioritizing our culture, we prioritize the success and well-being of our people who are our greatest asset of all.
INTERA provides a wide variety of benefits to support our eligible employees. Beyond competitive compensation, our employees can take advantage of a comprehensive mix of benefits to protect and support themselves and their families. Since all families are unique, INTERA offers equal benefits to employees with domestic partners as to those with spouses.
I love the type of projects that INTERA is able to win. I find them fascinating, and they require a high level of sophistication and creativity which speaks to the reputation that INTERA has. People know what we are capable of. The projects themselves are intellectually stimulating and challenging, but I equally love the people that I get to work with on these projects. There are so many bright and passionate people at INTERA who love their work as much as I do.”
What I like most about my work at INTERA is that I can do different aspects of coastal engineering. I do modeling, but I can also go to the field to inspect bridges or supervise a beach nourishment project. I solve problems out in the real world, not just behind a computer. I also love that the people I work with are like a family. We support each other personally and professionally.”
