INTERA Establishes Strategic Partnership with Mexico-Based HLA
INTERA Incorporated and Hidro Logica Ambiental S.A. de C.V. (HLA) are pleased to announce the formation of a strategic partnership. A Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico-based consulting firm, HLA offers a wide range of technical services focused on the evaluation, development, and management of groundwater resources and environment for mining and public-sector clients. This partnership enables INTERA to benefit from HLA’s expertise in Mexican water rights, and from their local experience in permitting and managing groundwater resources in support of mining projects. INTERA also gains the ability to provide in-country technical support for field-intensive projects through utilization of HLA personnel. For HLA, this partnership enables them to offer a wider range and higher level of technical services in Mexico, in fields including surface water, water treatment, well field optimization, data management, and mine waste characterization and management.

HLA is an employee-owned consulting firm established by Dr. Enrique Herrera, a hydrogeologist with over 15 years of professional experience, related to groundwater evaluation and exploration, mine dewatering, well field operation and groundwater modeling. Dr. Herrera was the head hydrogeologist at the Goldcorp/Newmont Peñasquito mine for five years, where he was responsible for pit dewatering and water supply strategies. INTERA’s Shaden Musleh, PE, Principal Water Resources Engineer and Director of Colorado Water Resources, was recently selected to join the Metro Roundtable as an At-Large Member. The Metro Roundtable is one of nine basin roundtables established by the Colorado Water for the 21st Century Act to help facilitate discussions on water management issues and encourage locally driven collaborative solutions. Currently, the Metro Roundtable is working on implementation of its identified projects and processes (IPPs) and its consumptive needs through the statewide process.
